Update: 2018-01-26 3:06am EST (GMT -5)
Issue: The X.509 certificate, installed locally on each appliance, has an expiry time (an integral component of certificates) of 1/25/2018 at 3:21pm EST. After this time the certificate would be expired and will cause a tunnel not to be established due to an expired certificate. It is important to clarify that there was no security breach, no failure of a 3rd party system, and that there was no software or hardware defect; in fact the cert system worked as it should.
Resolution: The quickest fix will be a firmware update of ALL affected IPTL appliances. This will UPDATE the X.509 certificates on the appliance with a certificate that has a 30 year expire date. This will remove any tunnel failures due to expired certificates. No other configuration will be required.
